Limnia collects no personal data. There is no user account, no server, no internet connection, and no analytics, advertising or tracking service of any kind. Everything you record stays on your device.
What follows explains that claim in detail, because a claim like this should be verifiable rather than merely believed.
Limnia stores the information you enter on your own device:
All of it is stored solely in your device's memory, inside the app's private area. Ingeniería del Software ISEnet, S.L. has no access to that information: we do not receive it, do not store it and cannot retrieve it. There is no Limnia server for it to be sent to.
One direct consequence: if you delete the app, that data is gone, and we cannot restore it. To keep it, use the backup feature built into the app.
Limnia makes no network connections at all. There are no calls to our servers or to anyone else's, no content downloads and no data uploads. The species catalogue and the parameter catalogue ship inside the app as bundled data.
The app contains no third-party libraries or components: it is built entirely on Apple's own frameworks. In particular, it includes no analytics, crash reporting, advertising, attribution or audience measurement system, and it does not access the device's advertising identifier or request app tracking permission.
Limnia declares a single permission, and asks for it only at the exact moment it is needed:
| Permission | When it is requested | What for |
|---|---|---|
| Camera | Only when you tap "Take photo" inside a note | Taking a photograph and attaching it to that note, on your device |
The app also uses two system mechanisms that require granting it no permission at all:
When you add a photograph, Limnia resizes it and saves it without its original metadata, including GPS location.
This is deliberate, and worth explaining: a photo of your aquarium taken at home has your home's coordinates embedded in it. Keeping them would put your address into the app's library and into every backup you export. Limnia discards them before writing the file, and there is an automated test in the project that verifies this on every build.
Limnia lets you export a copy of your library as a .limnia file.
In fairness, three kinds of processing exist that are not under Limnia's control:
Limnia is not specifically directed at children and collects no data from anyone, of any age. Since there is no data collection, there is no processing of children's data. Use of the app by a minor involves no transmission of information to ISEnet.
Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) grants you the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability, and the right not to be subject to automated decision-making.
About your aquarium data we have to be precise: we cannot give you access to it, rectify it or erase it, because we do not have it. This is not a refusal — that information never leaves your device and does not exist in any system of ours. You can exercise that control yourself, and more completely than we could:
| What you want | How to do it |
|---|---|
| See all your data | It is in the app. You can export it to a file from "Backups and data" |
| Port it to another device | Export the backup and restore it on the new device |
| Rectify any item | By editing the corresponding record in the app |
| Erase it entirely | By deleting the record, or by uninstalling the app, which removes its whole library |
As for the data we do process — an email you send us — you may exercise all your rights by writing to mobile@isenet.es. We will reply within the one-month period set by the GDPR. If you believe your request was not handled properly, you may lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency, Agencia Española de Protección de Datos (www.aepd.es), or with your own national supervisory authority.
Limnia does not build profiles and makes no automated decisions about people.
The app compares the values you record against the ranges in its catalogue and warns you when something falls outside them. That calculation runs on your device, concerns your aquarium rather than you, and is indicative only: it does not diagnose, does not prescribe, and does not replace your own judgement or that of a veterinarian.
None take place. There is no transfer of data to third countries because there is no transfer of data at all.
The app's data is stored in Limnia's private container, protected by the operating system and by device encryption when the device has a passcode set. Since there is no transmission and no server-side storage, the risk surface associated with those does not exist either.
The part that is on you: the backup file you export is not password-encrypted. Store it somewhere you trust.
If something fails, Limnia shows an error screen with a short diagnostic identifier you can copy and send us if you ask for help. The detail screen shows four items and only four: that identifier, the error code, the app version and the data schema version.
Two points that matter:
The diagnostic does not include your notes, your photographs, your aquarium names or your water values.
The app's data stays on your device until you delete it, either record by record or by uninstalling Limnia. There is no automatic expiry and no clean-up on our part, because we are not involved.
If a future version of Limnia changes what it processes — for instance, if it ever gained syncing or any online feature — we will update this policy before releasing that version, change the date in the header and describe what changed. Earlier versions of the policy remain applicable to anyone who does not update.
This policy is governed by Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and by Spanish Organic Law 3/2018 of 5 December on the Protection of Personal Data and the guarantee of digital rights.
